Evans Genera G2 Drumheads Reviews 4

My Friendly Neighbourhood Music Store, 12-13 bucks Canadian per head. Got 'em to replace the tired, in-curved heads I was currently playing.

They're durable. I've broken a lot of sticks since I got them, but haven't made any decent sized dents in the heads.

They're tough to tune right. Also, differences in tone are very obvious between toms, making them kind of lousy for tom-based beats.

Probably the strongest heads I've ever played. A little bit of echo in the sound, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a damper ring.

I got these heads in the summer, tried installing them and couldn't get them tuned right. So I set them aside, angry that I'd wasted 25 bucks. A few months later, my old heads had absolutely no life left in them, so I put these heads on and loved them. The trick is not to tune them too high at first. Now I love them.
